important: tomcat6/bluez security update
An update for tomcat6/bluez is now available for NewStart CGSL MAIN 4.05.
NewStart Security has rated this update as having a security impact of important. A Common Vunlnerability Scoring System(CVSS)base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from the CVElink(s) in the References section.
tomcat6: Tomcat is the servlet container that is used in the official Reference Implementation for the Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages technologies. The Java Servlet and JavaServer Pages specifications are developed by Sun under the Java Community Process. Tomcat is developed in an open and participatory environment and released under the Apache Software License version 2.0. Tomcat is intended to be a collaboration of the best-of-breed developers from around the world.
bluez: Utilities for use in Bluetooth applications: - hcitool - hciattach - hciconfig - bluetoothd - l2ping - start scripts (Red Hat) - pcmcia configuration files The BLUETOOTH trademarks are owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc., U.S.A.
tomcat6: It was discovered that the code that parsed the HTTP request line permitted invalid characters. This could be exploited, in conjunction with a proxy that also permitted the invalid characters but with a different interpretation, to inject data into the HTTP response. By manipulating the HTTP response the attacker could poison a web-cache, perform an XSS attack, or obtain sensitive information from requests other then their own.(CVE-2016-6816)
tomcat6: A vulnerability was discovered in Tomcat's handling of pipelined requests when "Sendfile" was used. If sendfile processing completed quickly, it was possible for the Processor to be added to the processor cache twice. This could lead to invalid responses or information disclosure.(CVE-2017-5647)
tomcat6: A vulnerability was discovered in the error page mechanism in Tomcat's DefaultServlet implementation. A crafted HTTP request could cause undesired side effects, possibly including the removal or replacement of the custom error page.(CVE-2017-5664)
tomcat6: A bug was discovered in the error handling of the send file code for the NIO HTTP connector. This led to the current Processor object being added to the Processor cache multiple times allowing information leakage between requests including, and not limited to, session ID and the response body.(CVE-2016-8745)
tomcat6: A vulnerability was discovered in Tomcat where if a servlet context was configured with readonly=false and HTTP PUT requests were allowed, an attacker could upload a JSP file to that context and achieve code execution.(CVE-2017-12617)
tomcat6: A vulnerability was discovered in Tomcat where if a servlet context was configured with readonly=false and HTTP PUT requests were allowed, an attacker could upload a JSP file to that context and achieve code execution.(CVE-2017-12615)
bluez: An information-disclosure flaw was found in the bluetoothd implementation of the Service Discovery Protocol (SDP). A specially crafted Bluetooth device could, without prior pairing or user interaction, retrieve portions of the bluetoothd process memory, including potentially sensitive information such as Bluetooth encryption keys.(CVE-2017-1000250)
