Security Fix(es):
kernel: A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel that allows an unprivileged local user to read sensitive files normally restricted to the root user. The flaw occurs during process exit, where a brief window allows an attacker to intercept file access from a privileged process before it fully terminates. Successful exploitation may lead to the disclosure of sensitive data such as SSH host private keys or /etc/shadow contents.(CVE-2026-46333)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Stochastic Fair Blue (SFB) queue discipline (`net/sched: sch_sfb`). This vulnerability occurs when the `sfb` component, acting as a parent queue, attempts to retrieve a network packet from its child queue using an incorrect dequeue function. This can lead to a null pointer dereference, causing a kernel panic and resulting in a denial of service (DoS) for the system.(CVE-2026-64012)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. A redundant call to `page_pool_put_full_page()` could lead to a double-free vulnerability. This issue occurs when memory pages are incorrectly released twice, which can cause a kernel panic, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the system.(CVE-2025-38490)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv4 networking component. The `ipv4_sysctl_exit_net()` function prematurely frees the `net->ipv4.sysctl_local_reserved_ports` memory. This can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability, where other threads might attempt to access deallocated memory. Such an issue can result in system instability or a denial of service.(CVE-2026-64002)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) module. This vulnerability occurs because the system does not properly handle Port I/O requests with a length of zero. An attacker, potentially from a guest virtual machine, could exploit this to cause a system crash or instability, leading to a denial of service (DoS).(CVE-2026-63940)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's `af_alg` cryptography module. This vulnerability involves an arithmetic overflow when processing associated data lengths during the transmit buffer size check. A remote attacker could exploit this flaw by providing a specially crafted associated data length, potentially leading to a denial of service (DoS) due to system instability.(CVE-2026-52972)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's keyring code. The `assoc_array_find()` function, used for looking up keys, was called without holding the necessary Read-Copy-Update (RCU) read lock. This oversight allows for a memory corruption vulnerability, particularly affecting persistent key handling, as the system's garbage collection mechanism can free memory while it is still in use. This could lead to a denial of service.(CVE-2026-64015)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Pressure Stall Information (PSI) subsystem. A race condition exists between the file release and pressure write operations, specifically concerning the `priv` member of `struct kernfs_open_file`. This can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability or a NULL dereference, potentially causing system instability or a denial of service. The issue arises when the `priv` member is deallocated during a cgroup file release while a pressure write operation attempts to access it, or when it becomes NULL before being accessed.(CVE-2026-52991)
kernel: A flaw was found in the packet scheduler API in the Linux kernel. An invalid assumption about qdiscs with major handle ffff allows qdiscs, such as DRR, that maintain an active class list to cause a use-after-free with a dangling class pointer.(CVE-2024-53057)
kernel: A use-after-free vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel's HFSC (Hierarchical Fair Service Curve) queuing discipline when it is configured with NETEM (Network Emulation) as a child. This flaw can lead to a kernel panic or crash due to incorrect assumptions about the queue state. Exploitation of this vulnerability requires local access with CAP_NET_ADMIN privileges and control over the qdisc (queueing discipline) setup. A local attacker could leverage this flaw to achieve denial of service or escalate privileges. Given that it affects kernel memory structures, successful exploitation could result in memory corruption, data leaks, or arbitrary write capabilities, leading to a full kernel crash.(CVE-2025-37890)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter synproxy module. When handling TCP timestamp options, a stale pointer can be used after memory reallocation. This can result in memory corruption, where data is written to a freed memory area, or lead to packets being sent with an incorrect checksum. A remote attacker could potentially exploit this to cause system instability or network communication issues.(CVE-2026-64007)
kernel: A double free vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel. In lan78xx_probe(), the `buf` buffer is freed twice: once implicitly through `usb_free_urb(dev->urb_intr)` with the `URB_FREE_BUFFER` flag and again explicitly by `kfree(buf)`, resulting in loss of availability of the system.(CVE-2024-53213)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Server-Message-Block Direct (SMC-D) client. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted SMC-Dv2 proposal with a Channel Identifier (CHID) of 0. This malicious proposal can cause a null pointer dereference in the kernel's SMC connection creation process, leading to a system crash and a Denial of Service (DoS).(CVE-2026-64048)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rpl: Fix use-after-free in rpl_do_srh_inline(). Running lwt_dst_cache_ref_loop.sh in selftest with KASAN triggers the splat below [0]. rpl_do_srh_inline() fetches ipv6_hdr(skb) and accesses it after skb_cow_head(), which is illegal as the header could be freed then. Let's fix it by making oldhdr to a local struct instead of a pointer. [0]: [root@fedora net]# ./lwt_dst_cache_ref_loop.sh ... kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: firmware: arm_scmi: Fix the double free in scmi_debugfs_common_setup() Clang static checker(scan-build) throws below warning: | drivers/firmware/arm_scmi/driver.c:line 2915, column 2 | Attempt to free released memory. When devm_add_action_or_reset() fails, scmi_debugfs_common_cleanup() will run twice which causes double free of 'dbg->name'. Remove the redundant scmi_debugfs_common_cleanup() to fix this problem.(CVE-2024-50159)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's bonding driver. When a non-Ethernet device, such as a Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) tunnel, is added to a bond, a type confusion vulnerability occurs. This happens because the bonding driver incorrectly copies network header operations from the slave device, leading to the kernel accessing incorrect data structures. This can result in a kernel crash, causing a denial of service.(CVE-2026-43456)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rcu: Fix rcu_read_unlock() deadloop due to IRQ work During rcu_read_unlock_special(), if this happens during irq_exit(), we can lockup if an IPI is issued. This is because the IPI itself triggers the irq_exit() path causing a recursive lock up. This is precisely what Xiongfeng found when invoking a BPF program on the trace_tick_stop() tracepoint As shown in the trace below. Fix by managing the irq_work state correctly. irq_exit() __irq_exit_rcu() /* in_hardirq() returns false after this */ preempt_count_sub(HARDIRQ_OFFSET) tick_irq_exit() tick_nohz_irq_exit() tick_nohz_stop_sched_tick() trace_tick_stop() /* a bpf prog is hooked on this trace point */ __bpf_trace_tick_stop() bpf_trace_run2() rcu_read_unlock_special() /* will send a IPI to itself */ irq_work_queue_on(&rdp->defer_qs_iw, rdp->cpu); A simple reproducer can also be obtained by doing the following in tick_irq_exit(). It will hang on boot without the patch: static inline void tick_irq_exit(void) { +rcu_read_lock(); +WRITE_ONCE(current->rcu_read_unlock_special.b.need_qs, true); +rcu_read_unlock(); + [neeraj: Apply Frederic's suggested fix for PREEMPT_RT](CVE-2025-39744)
kernel: A use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability was found and fixed in the Linux kernel's TCP subsystem related to request socket (reqsk) timers during handshake handling. This issue stems from a race condition caused by relying on `timer_pending()` in `reqsk_queue_unlink()`. This could result in the timer continuing to run after the socket (`req->sk`) is freed, allowing BPF programs to access invalid memory.(CVE-2024-50154)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtk-sd: Prevent memory corruption from DMA map failure If msdc_prepare_data() fails to map the DMA region, the request is not prepared for data receiving, but msdc_start_data() proceeds the DMA with previous setting. Since this will lead a memory corruption, we have to stop the request operation soon after the msdc_prepare_data() fails to prepare it.(CVE-2025-38401)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ppp: fix ppp_async_encode() illegal access syzbot reported an issue in ppp_async_encode() [1] In this case, pppoe_sendmsg() is called with a zero size. kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's network Transport Layer Security (TLS) subsystem. An issue in how scatterlist entries are chained could lead to illegal input being provided to cryptographic operations. This could potentially affect the integrity of TLS communications.(CVE-2026-64046)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's xfrm (IPSec framework) component. A local, unprivileged user can trigger an integer underflow in the Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP) module's Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) calculation. This underflow leads to a severe out-of-bounds write, which can cause memory corruption. The primary impact of this vulnerability is a denial of service, with potential for further system compromise.(CVE-2026-64009)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb-audio: Fix out-of-bounds read in snd_usb_get_audioformat_uac3() In snd_usb_get_audioformat_uac3(), the length value returned from snd_usb_ctl_msg() is used directly for memory allocation without validation. This length is controlled by the USB device. The allocated buffer is cast to a uac3_cluster_header_descriptor and its fields are accessed without verifying that the buffer is large enough. If the device returns a smaller than expected length, this leads to an out-of-bounds read. Add a length check to ensure the buffer is large enough for uac3_cluster_header_descriptor.(CVE-2025-38249)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/aux: Fix AUX buffer serialization Ole reported that event->mmap_mutex is strictly insufficient to serialize the AUX buffer, add a per RB mutex to fully serialize it. Note that in the lock order comment the perf_event::mmap_mutex order was already wrong, that is, it nesting under mmap_lock is not new with this patch.(CVE-2024-46713)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netdevsim: use cond_resched() in nsim_dev_trap_report_work() I am still seeing many syzbot reports hinting that syzbot might fool nsim_dev_trap_report_work() with hundreds of ports [1] Lets use cond_resched(), and system_unbound_wq instead of implicit system_wq. kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xen: fix UAF in dmabuf_exp_from_pages() [dma_buf_fd() fixes; no preferences regarding the tree it goes through - up to xen folks] As soon as we'd inserted a file reference into descriptor table, another thread could close it. That's fine for the case when all we are doing is returning that descriptor to userland (it's a race, but it's a userland race and there's nothing the kernel can do about it). However, if we follow fd_install() with any kind of access to objects that would be destroyed on close (be it the struct file itself or anything destroyed by its ->release()), we have a UAF. dma_buf_fd() is a combination of reserving a descriptor and fd_install(). gntdev dmabuf_exp_from_pages() calls it and then proceeds to access the objects destroyed on close - starting with gntdev_dmabuf itself. Fix that by doing reserving descriptor before anything else and do fd_install() only when everything had been set up.(CVE-2025-38595)

kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dma-direct: Leak pages on dma_set_decrypted() failure The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2024-35939 to this issue. Upstream advisory: https://lore.kernel.org/linux-cve-announce/2024051919-CVE-2024-35939-f877@gregkh/T(CVE-2024-35939)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) implementation. This vulnerability, a Use-After-Free (UAF) error, occurs due to incorrect caching of network packet addresses before a memory operation. An attacker could potentially exploit this flaw to cause memory corruption, which may lead to a denial of service or, in some scenarios, arbitrary code execution.(CVE-2026-53006)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: nSVM: Ignore nCR3[4:0] when loading PDPTEs from memory Ignore nCR3[4:0] when loading PDPTEs from memory for nested SVM, as bits 4:0 of CR3 are ignored when PAE paging is used, and thus VMRUN doesn't enforce 32-byte alignment of nCR3. In the absolute worst case scenario, failure to ignore bits 4:0 can result in an out-of-bounds read, e.g. if the target page is at the end of a memslot, and the VMM isn't using guard pages. Per the APM: The CR3 register points to the base address of the page-directory-pointer table. The page-directory-pointer table is aligned on a 32-byte boundary, with the low 5 address bits 4:0 assumed to be 0. And the SDM's much more explicit: 4:0 Ignored Note, KVM gets this right when loading PDPTRs, it's only the nSVM flow that is broken.(CVE-2024-50115)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpiolib: cdev: fix uninitialised kfifo If a line is requested with debounce, and that results in debouncing in software, and the line is subsequently reconfigured to enable edge detection then the allocation of the kfifo to contain edge events is overlooked. This results in events being written to and read from an uninitialised kfifo. Read events are returned to userspace. Initialise the kfifo in the case where the software debounce is already active.(CVE-2024-36898)
kernel: A use-after-free (UAF) flaw exists in the Linux Kernel within the reassembly of fragmented TIPC messages, specifically in the tipc_buf_append() function. The issue results due to a lack of checks in the error handling cleanup and can trigger a UAF on "struct sk_buff", which may lead to remote code execution.(CVE-2024-36886)
kernel: An out-of-bounds write vulnerability was found in the Ceph authentication handling code in the Linux kernel. The handle_auth_session_key() function uses a length field from network packets without proper validation, potentially allowing out-of-bounds memory writes during connection secret decryption or service ticket processing.(CVE-2025-68284)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ethtool component, specifically within the EEPROM Netlink fallback path. The fallback_set_params() function fails to properly validate the length of data being read from the module's EEPROM, allowing for an out-of-bounds read. Additionally, the eeprom_fallback() function uses an uninitialized memory buffer, which could lead to the disclosure of sensitive kernel memory information. This vulnerability could result in unexpected behavior in device drivers and firmware, and potentially expose internal kernel data.(CVE-2026-63985)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) USB audio subsystem. An inconsistency in how USB audio playback and capture streams are handled can lead to an out-of-bounds write to a memory buffer. This can result in a system crash, causing a denial of service for a local user.(CVE-2026-43279)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: USB: serial: io_edgeport: fix use after free in debug printk The "dev_dbg(&urb->dev->dev, ..." which happens after usb_free_urb(urb) is a use after free of the "urb" pointer. Store the "dev" pointer at the start of the function to avoid this issue.(CVE-2024-50267)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) module. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause an out-of-bounds (OOB) access by sending a specially crafted, truncated supervision frame. The issue arises because the system does not ensure the entire TLV (Type-Length-Value) header is properly processed before memory access. This could lead to system instability or denial of service.(CVE-2026-64000)
kernel: A race condition was found in the Linux kernel’s POSIX CPU timer handling, where handle_posix_cpu_timers() may run concurrently with posix_cpu_timer_del() on an exiting task which could result in use-after-free scenarios. An attacker with local user access could use this flaw to crash or escalate their privileges on a system.(CVE-2025-38352)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usbnet: ipheth: use static NDP16 location in URB Original code allowed for the start of NDP16 to be anywhere within the URB based on the `wNdpIndex` value in NTH16. Only the start position of NDP16 was checked, so it was possible for even the fixed-length part of NDP16 to extend past the end of URB, leading to an out-of-bounds read. On iOS devices, the NDP16 header always directly follows NTH16. Rely on and check for this specific format. This, along with NCM-specific minimal URB length check that already exists, will ensure that the fixed-length part of NDP16 plus a set amount of DPEs fit within the URB. Note that this commit alone does not fully address the OoB read. The limit on the amount of DPEs needs to be enforced separately.(CVE-2025-21742)

kernel: A flaw was found in the HFSC queueing discipline implementation in the Linux kernel. When a packet is enqueued and the child qdisc's peek() function is called before properly updating the HFSC queue's length and backlog counters, a race condition can occur. In some cases, the peek operation may trigger an immediate dequeue and drop, leading to inconsistent queue accounting. This may leave an empty HFSC class in the active list, eventually causing use-after-free (UAF) conditions. Due to the nature of this memory corruption (use-after-free or list corruption) in kernel scheduler code, a successful exploit could lead to privilege escalation, data leakage, or denial of service. Therefore, the CIA impact is assessed as HHH to reflect a worst-case.(CVE-2025-38000)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: check v2_ext_offset/eid_cnt/ism_gid_cnt when receiving proposal msg When receiving proposal msg in server, the fields v2_ext_offset/ eid_cnt/ism_gid_cnt in proposal msg are from the remote client and can not be fully trusted. Especially the field v2_ext_offset, once exceed the max value, there has the chance to access wrong address, and crash may happen. This patch checks the fields v2_ext_offset/eid_cnt/ism_gid_cnt before using them.(CVE-2024-49568)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) x86 shadow paging mechanism. This vulnerability occurs when a host page directory entry (PDE) mapping is changed from within the guest, leading to an unexpected role mismatch in shadow paging. This mismatch can cause a use-after-free condition, where the system attempts to access memory that has already been released. Such a condition can lead to system instability, denial of service, potentially the execution of arbitrary code or guest-to-host escape.(CVE-2026-53359)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. When the kernel's real-time mutex (rtmutex) component performs a specific operation called 'proxy-lock rollback' during futex requeue, it incorrectly handles task pointers. This can lead to a 'Use-After-Free' (UAF) vulnerability, where the system attempts to use memory that has already been released. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to gain elevated privileges or execute unauthorized code.(CVE-2026-43499)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's xfrm-ESP and RxRPC subsystems. Unsafe in-place cryptographic processing of shared socket buffer fragments allows a low-privileged local attacker to corrupt page-cache contents of readable files, including sensitive system files, and gain root privileges. The xfrm-ESP variant requires unprivileged user or network namespace creation, while the RxRPC variant depends on the rxrpc module being available on the target system.(CVE-2026-43284)

kernel: A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel's management of network namespaces. By manipulating the lifecycle of network namespaces, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a system crash or leak sensitive system memory. Exploitation of this vulnerability requires that a user has access to the system and the ability to create or destroy network namespaces. This typically requires administrative privileges, but could be exposed to an unprivileged user who has control over container lifecycles or a user who has administrative privileges within a container.(CVE-2025-38052)
kernel: A flaw was found in the XFS filesystem. A race condition in the copy-on-write mechanism for reflinked files can cause writes to bypass the copy-on-write process and modify shared data blocks directly. As a result, data intended for a private copy may be written to the original shared location, corrupting the contents of other files that reference those blocks. A local attacker with read access to a file on an XFS filesystem with reflink enabled could exploit this flaw to corrupt files they do not have write access to, allowing content to be added to the target file. If properly exploited this vulnerability may lead to privilege escalations or arbitrary code execution.(CVE-2026-64600)
kernel: A use-after-free vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel. The metadata_dst, which is used to store the SCI value for macsec offload, is freed by metadata_dst_free() in macsec_free_netdev(), while the driver still uses it to send the packet.(CVE-2024-50261)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSv4.0: Fix a use-after-free problem in the asynchronous open() Yang Erkun reports that when two threads are opening files at the same time, and are forced to abort before a reply is seen, then the call to nfs_release_seqid() in nfs4_opendata_free() can result in a use-after-free of the pointer to the defunct rpc task of the other thread. The fix is to ensure that if the RPC call is aborted before the call to nfs_wait_on_sequence() is complete, then we must call nfs_release_seqid() in nfs4_open_release() before the rpc_task is freed.(CVE-2024-53173)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) component. A local attacker with privileges on the host system could exploit a vulnerability in how KVM handles shadow page table entries (SPTEs) during memory-mapped I/O (MMIO) operations. By manipulating guest page table entries (gPTEs) from host userspace, an attacker could cause KVM to install an MMIO SPTE without properly removing an existing shadow-present SPTE. This improper handling could lead to a kernel warning, resulting in a denial of service or potentially allowing for privilege escalation or information disclosure.(CVE-2026-23401)
kernel: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Check validity of link->type in bpf_link_show_fdinfo() If a newly-added link type doesn't invoke BPF_LINK_TYPE(), accessing bpf_link_type_strs[link->type] may result in an out-of-bounds access. To spot such missed invocations early in the future, checking the validity of link->type in bpf_link_show_fdinfo() and emitting a warning when such invocations are missed.(CVE-2024-53099)
kernel: A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's algif_aead cryptographic algorithm interface. An incorrect in-place operation causes source and destination data mappings to differ during cryptographic processing. A low-privileged local attacker can exploit this flaw to corrupt the contents of sensitive system files and escalate to root privileges.(CVE-2026-31431)
kernel: bugfix
libvpx: A flaw was found in libvpx. Encoding a frame with larger dimensions than the original configured size with VP9 may result in a heap overflow.(CVE-2023-6349)
libvpx: A flaw was found in libvpx. A double-free issue can occur in `vpx_codec_enc_init_multi` after a failed allocation when initializing the encoder for WebRTC. This can cause memory corruption and an exploitable crash.(CVE-2025-5283)
libvpx: A flaw was found in Firefox and Thunderbird. The Mozilla Foundation's Security Advisory describes the following issue: Heap buffer overflow in libvpx.(CVE-2026-2447)
libvpx: bugfix
